Classifieds Marketplace Terms

These terms supplement the General Terms of Use and the Acceptable Use Policy of IFIAAS. Where they conflict on a matter specific to classified listings, these terms prevail.

1. What the classifieds marketplace is

The classifieds marketplace is a service that hosts content posted by third parties. IFIAAS provides a publishing space; it sells nothing, buys nothing, holds none of the goods offered and takes part in no negotiation.

IFIAAS is not a party to the transaction. Any sale contract is formed solely between buyer and seller. The platform does not collect the price, gives no warranty on the goods and arranges no delivery.

Browsing listings, searching and contacting a seller require no account. Only posting does.

2. Who may post

Posting is restricted to holders of a IFIAAS account (operator or advertiser) with a verified email address. The phone number remains the account identifier and the contact shown on listings; it is the email address that is verified, through a confirmation link. The poster warrants that:

• they are of age, or duly authorised;
• they own the item or are entitled to offer it;
• the item genuinely exists and matches its description;
• they hold the rights to the photographs published.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent a sanction or a posting limit is a breach of these terms.

3. Prohibited content

Listings for the following are prohibited:

1. weapons, ammunition, explosives and their parts;
2. medicines, poisonous substances, narcotics and psychotropic products;
3. counterfeit goods and any infringement of intellectual property rights;
4. protected species, animal or plant, alive or dead, and products derived from them;
5. official documents: identity papers, diplomas, licences, residence permits, official seals;
6. human organs, tissue and bodily products;
7. any form of human trafficking or exploitation, including under cover of job offers, placement or travel;
8. sexual content and services of a sexual nature;
9. stolen goods or goods of fraudulent origin;
10. payment instruments, accounts, credentials and personal data belonging to third parties;
11. live animals whose transfer is regulated or prohibited;
12. financial investments, credit offers, promises of winnings and pyramid schemes;
13. any good or service whose sale is prohibited or regulated under applicable law and for which the poster cannot show the required authorisations.

Also prohibited, whatever the subject of the listing: insulting, defamatory, hateful or discriminatory statements; third-party contact details published without consent; and listings that are plainly misleading as to price, condition or availability.

4. Moderation

Listings are reviewed before publication. After several listings published without reports, a poster may publish immediately, review then taking place after publication.

IFIAAS may, without notice and without compensation:

• reject a listing, stating the reason for rejection;
• withdraw a listing already published;
• suspend or close an account in the event of repeated or serious breach.

A rejection or withdrawal implies no finding on the lawfulness of the item: it expresses the platform's decision on what it agrees to host.

5. Reporting and withdrawal

Anyone may report a listing, without an account, from the listing page. Reports are anonymous: no identifying data about the reporter is retained.

A sufficient number of distinct reports triggers the automatic and provisional withdrawal of the listing pending review. This withdrawal is reversible.

Handling time: 48 working hours from receipt of the report. The reporter and the poster are informed of the outcome where they can be identified.

Notice of manifestly unlawful content may be sent to [to be completed], stating the listing address, the grounds and, where applicable, evidence of the infringement claimed. Abusive notices engage the liability of their author.

6. Duration, expiry and re-publication

A listing is published for a set period, stated at posting. At the end of that period it leaves the public catalogue but remains available to its poster for ninety days, during which it may be re-published.

After that period, the content of the listing is permanently destroyed: its title, description, price, contact number and every photograph. Only a technical record remains — the poster's identity, the category, the dates and the public address the listing had — kept for twelve months under the obligations to retain data enabling identification of the author of online content. That record is destroyed in turn at the end of that period, with no possibility of restoration.

The poster may withdraw their listing at any time.

7. Paid visibility

Posting a listing is free. Only promotion — priority placement in the catalogue, distribution on partner portals — is charged, for the duration chosen by the advertiser and at the rate displayed before payment.

Promotion covers visibility, never content: it grants no exemption from any rule in this document, and a promoted listing that breaches article 3 is withdrawn without refund of the remaining period.

Any promoted listing is clearly marked as such.

8. Contact between buyer and seller

The seller's phone number is not displayed directly: it is revealed at the buyer's request. That disclosure is counted for audience measurement, without identifying the buyer.

Exchanges that follow take place outside the platform. IFIAAS has no access to them, does not retain them and does not intervene in the relationship.

9. Caution — advice to buyers

• Never pay in advance, whatever reason is given.
• Meet the seller and inspect the item before any payment.
• Prefer a public, busy place for handover.
• Be wary of an unusually low price, insistent urgency, or a request to pay a third party.
• If in doubt, report the listing rather than replying.

10. Liability

IFIAAS acts as host of the listings posted. It exercises no general prior control over content and cannot be held liable for:

• the accuracy, lawfulness or quality of the listings published;
• the existence, condition or conformity of the goods offered;
• the conduct of posters and buyers, or the performance of their agreements;
• payments made directly between them.

Its liability may be engaged only in respect of content whose manifestly unlawful character it knew of and which it failed to remove promptly.

The poster is solely responsible for the content they publish and indemnifies IFIAAS against any third-party claim relating to it.

11. Personal data

Posters' identifying data is retained in accordance with the privacy policy and statutory retention obligations.

Reports are recorded as a non-reversible technical fingerprint, which distinguishes reporters without identifying them.

12. Amendment

IFIAAS may amend these terms. The version that applies is the one published on this page on the date the listing was posted. Any substantial change is brought to the attention of posters holding an account.

13. Professional sellers

A poster publishing in a professional capacity — as part of a commercial, craft or professional activity, whether as a main or secondary occupation — must identify themselves as such and provide their identification on their storefront: business name, registration number where they have one, and address. This information is displayed publicly.

They remain responsible for the obligations attached to their activity: pre-contractual information, legal guarantees, invoicing, right of withdrawal where applicable, and tax and social declarations. IFIAAS, which is not a party to the transaction, does not stand in for them and does not check them.

A private individual selling an item they own is not concerned by this article.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law in force in Bénin. Any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Bénin.
